We do extensive drop tests on our phones because phones get extensively dropped. #DoWhatYouCant
Very sorry to say that although Samsung may have drop tests they are not resulting in tougher phones. I've been using Samsung smartphones exclusively since their Windows Mobile Omnia series and switched to Android with the first Galaxy S. Since then I owned an S2, S3, Exhibit (S3 mini), K Zoom (S5 camera phone) and a S7 (non-edge) and, except from my S3 that got a fissure on the bottom left side of screen due to a drop from 1.5m high on concrete floor face down and still worked flawlessly with no need of any repairs until the beginning of last year (2017), no phone has had even a scratch on them no matter the amount or height of the drops. Then I got my brand new S8 and after a little more than a month my 6 months old baby touches it with her feet while I took her in my arms causing my phone to gently slide on the couch cushion and drop from a 43cm height to the ceramic floor below. And although it was encased in an original Samsung case and Samsung screen protector the bottom left corner completely shattered to a point where one of the minuscule shards dislodged from the phone and stuck deep into my small finger on my left hand when I recovered it from the ground and was checking the damage. After two long months of distress with Samsung's many departments that never talked to each other and didn't solve the problem my phone was finally fixed on Samsung's expenses, although the seriousness of a client being hurt by their product in a situation that clearly should have never happened and their complete lack of interest on addressing the problem responsibly and call for extras tests was shocking. Curved glass surfaces are much more fragile so these areas should be reinforced or have a built that allows for controlled energy dispersion in case of sudden impact in order to avoid shattering and risks such as having a shard of glass finding its way to a persons eyes, specially if it was a baby that could be playing on the floor when the event happened. I hope Samsung will give me some answers on the matter now that I decided to make this incident public as conversations with the company here in Brazil didn't go any further than replacing my phone's screen.

I dropped my note 8 onto a soft carpet from less than 2 foot high. The screen smashed and it stopped working. It then cost me £200 to fix. The phone is fantastic out of a case and feels high in quality......I'll probably always stick with Samsung, but these test drop promises are in controlled conditions and are inaccurate for real every day life. Especially when dropping on a soft surface. Now it's in a case and all in all, it's a great phone.

On 02.25.2018, forget everything you know about the camera.
Our unique curved design is a beauty to behold. And easier for your hands to hold. #DoWhatYouCant
Pity anything you design will succumb to hopeless build quality and never translate into a decent real world product. Just keep sending out phones with dud cameras, broken GPS and hey - while you're at it, let's re-imagine the smartphone with less features! Who needs a headphone jack or an SD card slot. Because functionality is passe.

The world may teach us can't, but we are all born to do what can't be done. #DoWhatYouCant
Ran my s7 over with a tractor. Bent the phone rather severely. Front glass and back glass both broke. Gets extremely hot when I charge it. BUT IT STILL WORKS. I wish I could take pictures of it it's pretty impressive. Thank you for making a quality device that stands up to my abuse.

Hello, I have been a loyal customer to samsung and have been using the galaxy s collection from a long time. But this time I have just used my s7 edge for an year and suddenly it started heating and showed a black screen. All of my important contacts and data is in that phone. I gave it to samsung repair centre in Delhi and they are giving me an estimate for RS14,200. That is totally not acceptable as it is not a fault on my end. The phone has been taken care of very nicely and is in excellent physical condition. Is this the quality of samsung products? I am not going to pay 25% OF THE COST just one year after to fix the phone. I would like to get this message to the top officials and would appreciate to get a response and get my phone replaced or fixed. Thanks Gurdial Singh
